Carla Bruni, Sarkozy's wife, is pregnant

PARIS, May 17 (UPI) -- French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is pregnant, President Nicolas Sarkozy's father said Tuesday.

Pal Sarkozy confirmed the rumors to the German magazine Bild.

"The two do not know the sex, but I'm sure there will be a girl and beautiful as Carla," he said.

Bruni, 43, an Italian-born singer-songwriter and former model, is Sarkozy's third wife. He has three sons from his first two marriages.
