'How??': Fans in Disbelief as Sofia Vergara Turns Fifty

Modern Family star Sofia Vergara has celebrated her 50th birthday—and fans are reacting with disbelief.

The actress and America's Got Talent judge turned 50 years old on July 10, spending the weekend posting multiple pictures from her celebrations alongside her friends and husband, actor Joe Manganiello.

Her pictures had thousands of fans commenting on how incredible she looks, with many expressing genuine confusion at how she could possibly be 50.

Her celebrity friends also filled her comments and Instagram page with birthday messages. Terry Crews, Heidi Klum and Sofia Resing were just some who sent Vergara their well-wishes.

Husband Manganiello featured in some snaps and also posted his own birthday tribute to his wife on his own Instagram account. Her adult son, Manolo Gonzalez Vergara, also posted a video tribute to his mom.

The comment section to Vergara's birthday pictures included hyperbolic comments like "How??" "So beautiful," "amazing," "gorgeous" and more.

She wore a yellow dress on her birthday night out and was presented with a cake, shaped like a Louis Vuitton bag filled with money. As the cake was brought over and the crowd was singing "Happy Birthday," Vergara switched the 5 and the 0 candles around to change her age.

The compliments continued on Twitter for Vergara. "Still looks like a goddess," wrote @ghostinae, while @good4billie added "she looks like she is in her late 30s." Once again the conversation around how sensational she looked and continued: "she did not age," said @tyrayrneh while others called her a "Colombian Queen."

"How is Sofia Vergara 50? wtf," wrote @Ahmadajwady, a sentiment echoed across social media.

Vergara actually shared a birthday with former pop star Jessica Simpson, who turned 42 years old on Sunday. Some fans celebrated both entertainers with joint birthday messages online.

Vergara was born in Barranquilla, Colombia on July 10, 1972. She initially studied dentistry at the National University of Colombia but quit before graduating to pursue modeling and show business. She emigrated to the U.S. with her son in 1998.

Best known for her role in Modern Family as the character Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, she has also appeared in movies like Four Brothers, New Year's Eve and Hot Pursuit.

As well as continuing to judge on AGT, Vergara's next big role looks set to be in the TV miniseries Griselda in which she will play notorious drug trafficker Griselda Blanco. Netflix recently released the first look at Griselda, showing Vergara portraying a more sinister role than audiences will be used to from her. Vergara is also classed as a producer on the show, which was filmed earlier this year. There is currently no release date set for Griselda, though it will air on Netflix.
