Robert Rodriguez & Frank Miller Already Considering ‘Sin City 3,’ Watch The Red-Band Comic Con Spot

Moments ago in San Diego, Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller and the cast of “Sin City: A Dame To Kill For” finished up their Comic-Con panel in Hall H. With an hour dedicated to the film (most panels are apportioned an hour per studio), the filmmakers wasted no time, showing the first scene and announcing intentions for a third film.

“Robert and I are already talking about ‘Sin City 3,’” Miller told the San Diego crowd. “So you’d better show up for number two or they won’t pay for it.”

Sin City” was released way back in 2005. Why the nine-year wait between movies? Rodriguez said part of the reason was logistical. “I don’t think any other time would have been the right time. This cast would not have been there,” he said.

Evidently, Jessica Alba’s character is no damsel in distress in this film. To the contrary, she’s hardcore. “She showed up so in character that we thought she hated us,” Rodriguez said. “My first thought when I saw Jessica was, ‘I haven’t seen her in eight years. How did I piss her off?’,” Miller added.

The panel ended with a tease for “Sin City 3,” which suggests that a third film is further along than previously indicated are likely more than just idle talk. Meanwhile, a new Comic-Con TV spot for “Sin City 2” was released, which you can watch below. Is that Lady Gaga soundtracking the spot? She is in the movie. “A Dame To Kill For” opens August 22. Check out the new character posters too. — additional reporting by Drew Taylor.
