LIST: 4th of July celebrations, fireworks shows on the Coast

BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Cities across the Coast are gearing up for 4th of July festivities, with events leading up to and on the special day.
Here’s when and where to catch each Independence Day celebration and fireworks show.
Friday, June 30
Saturday, July 1
- Diamondhead: South Diamondhead at Harbor Circle, 5:30-10 p.m.
- Long Beach: 4th of July Jubilee
- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Festival on the Town Green
- 1 p.m.: Parade on Jeff Davis Avenue, begins at First Methodist Church, ends at Town Green
- 6 p.m.: Live music on the Town Green
- 8:45 p.m.: Fireworks
- 10 a.m.-4 p.m.: Festival on the Town Green
Sunday, July 2
- Bay St. Louis: Pre-4th of July Party at the Silver Slipper
- 5-7 p.m.: Walton & Johnson Meet & Greet
- 6-9 p.m.: Dave Mayley Band
- 9 p.m.: Fireworks
- Bay St. Louis: “Lighting Up Da Bay” at Oyster Bayou on the Jourdan River, 8:30 p.m.
- Hosted by the Jourdan River Communities Association

Monday, July 3
- Biloxi: Independence Day Patriotic Fireworks Extravaganza at MGM Park
- Fireworks following the Shuckers vs. Mississippi Braves game
- Wiggins: Flint Creek Independence Day Celebration (1216 Parkway Drive), 9 p.m.
- $10 per car
Tuesday, July 4
- Biloxi: Biloxi Beach, 9 p.m.
- Best viewing: Between the Lighthouse to the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Bridge
- Fireworks-Free Zone (individuals cannot shoot their own fireworks): From the Small Craft Harbor to Oak Street
- Gulfport: Jones Park, 8:45 p.m.
- Best viewing: Near Jones Park
- Fireworks-Free Zone (individuals cannot shoot their own fireworks): South of Highway 90 from 15th Street to 25th Avenue
- Gulfport: 4th of July Celebration at the Aquarium, 6:30-8:30 p.m.
- Fins, fireworks and frosty beers
- $15 admission
- Lucedale: in the old Walmart parking lot (120109 Old Highway 63), 9 p.m.
- McNeill: corner of Sones Chapel Road and Highway 11
- 3 p.m. - Food Trucks and Political Candidate forum
- 5 p.m. - Bicycle parade
- 6 p.m. - Gospel singing
- 9 p.m. - Fireworks
- Pascagoula: Pascagoula Beach Park, 8:45 p.m.
- Best viewing: Anywhere along Beach Boulevard
- Boaters: 550′ Safety Zone around the barge
- Parking: Beach Boulevard east of Beach Park
- Listen Along: Patriotic music in sync with fireworks on Magic 93.7
- Perkinston: 4th of July Celebration at Necaise Ball Field (30300 Highway 603), 7 p.m.
- Hosted by Crane Creek Baptist Church
- Free admission
- Guest speakers, fireworks, concessions, prizes
- Picayune: Independence Day Celebration at Friendship Park (1701 S. Haugh Avenue)
- 12 p.m. - Kids Zone opens at the playground with splash pad, petting zoo, dance party, & more
- 1 p.m. - Cake walk at M&M booth
- 3 p.m. - Golf cart/UTV parade: line up at 2:30, parade is around the park
- 4 p.m. - Live music starts at the soccer fields
- 4-6 p.m.: Eric Sharp featuring Johnny Ringo
- 6:30-8:30 p.m.: New Direction
- 6 p.m. - Special announcement from The Cringles (Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus)
- 9 p.m. - National anthem with fireworks immediately following
If you are going to set off your own fireworks, officials recommend the following tips:
- Make sure it is legal to set them off in your area.
- Light only one firework at a time.
- Keep them away from any body parts and from other people.
- Do not try to re-light a faulty firework.
- Keep water handy to put out any flames.
- Don’t ever handle fireworks while impaired.
- Always monitor your children, and never let them handle fireworks.
- If you do happen to get a serious burn, seek medical attention immediately.
