Submitting artworks in our gallery is not only a way to showcase art, but also an opportunity to share with you stories about the paintings and the artists behind them.

Piet Mondrian, a purist of colors and lines, was an immense visionary of Abstract Art of the 20th century. After shifting from a figurative style to an increasingly abstract one, he became the main figure who theorized Neoplasticism. This approach used the fundamental elements of painting, such as color, line, and form, in their purest state, employing only primary colors and non-colors, as well as squares and rectangles with straight, horizontal, or vertical lines.

Did you know that Mondrian was a spiritual painter, raised in a highly religious family?
"To approach the spiritual in art, we will use as little as possible of reality, because reality is opposed to the spiritual."
Mondrian's early interest in Theosophy - a belief in a unifying Truth across religions influenced his art. He aimed to create a Universal Art partly fuelled by his Theosophical beliefs. Hence he ended up using only pure colors - the three primaries: red, blue, yellow - and the right angle, which for him has universal meaning, representing the duality present in the universe and the laws of nature.

Today, we offer you this first edition, an original vintage poster [from Mondrian's exhibition at the Pace Gallery in the 1970s. This poster has become a classic for collectors seeking to add to their collection a testimony of the history of 20th-century abstraction.

Piet Mondrian ( 1872 - 1944 ) was a Dutch-born Modernist Abstract painter and art theorist, he is considered to be one of the most important and influential Modern artists of all time. He evolved a non-representational form which he termed Neoplasticism. Influenced by Cubism, the early Modernist geometric artworks were considered quite avant-garde for the time in which they were created. Artworks by Mondrian are included in many of the world's most prestigious museums.
