Folks, the next-gen Toyota Avanza MPV's pictures have just made their way on to the interwebs. Yep, internet sleuths finally managed to get their hands on the upcoming Toyota MPV which is expected to premiere rather soon before it goes on sale in Indonesia. In fact, given the leaked images which seem show the Avanza 7 seater MPV in a showroom, we reckon the unveiling and launch could happen sooner than one may have expected. Before we discuss the possibility of Toyota Avanza's launch in India, let us take a look at what this MPV is all about, yeah?

The latest iteration of this Toyota MPV gets a design overhaul; while the 2021 Avanza retains its predecessor's overall boxy silhouette, the MPV manages to look quite modern. The front appears to take inspiration from the Toyota Corolla Cross thanks to the MPV's large trapezoidal grille, redesigned LED headlights, rhombus-esque (?) fog lamp housings, new air inlet, etc. Other notable elements include 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, full-width LED tail lamps, integrated rear spoiler, etc.

The interior of the car too appears to have received a major refresh, including a redesigned dashboard, bigger touchscreen infotainment system, etc. You will also get to see the upcoming 7 seater MPV come equipped with a digital instrument console, push-button start, a bunch of safety features under the purview of an advanced driver-assistance system, etc.

Underpinned by the DNGA platform, the third generation Toyota Avanza MPV is expected to be offered with a choice between a 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.

Now, about the entire 'Toyota Avanza launch date in India' bit -- folks, Toyota has not yet said if it intends to launch this MPV in India. We are not sure if it will or even should. You see a trademark for Toyota Rumion 7 seater MPV has been filed in India, which indicates the company may not be planning to launch Toyota Avanza in India. Nonetheless, we will have to wait to know for sure.
