History’s most famous artworks ‘littered with aliens and UFOs’, crackpot believers claim

CONSPIRACY theorists are certain that famous ancient paintings provide evidence that aliens exist and visited our ancestors.

Here are the artworks that are often considered as proof that intelligent lifeforms and flying saucers have been witnessed on Earth long before modern times.

Lots of people think that the ancient genius Leonardo da Vinci was hiding secret messages in his paintings.

Some people think that he was hiding alien figures in some of his most famous pieces of work that can be seen if you mirror these images.

A mirrored and lightened version of his St John the Baptist painting appears to show an alien face.

The Mona Lisa is one of the most famous paintings in the world and there are so many conspiracy theories surrounding it.

If you apply the same technique as mentioned above to the painting then some people claim they can see an alien figure over Mona Lisa's shoulder.

This bizarre theory was put forward by YouTube channel Paranormal Crucible, which claims if the painting's colours are manipulated to make it clearer certain freaky features become apparent.

Saint Wolfgang and the Devil 1475

This work by a famous German Renaissance painter Michael Pacher in the 15th century is based around a legend that states Saint Wolfgang, the Bishop of Regensburg in Bavaria during the 10th century, tricked the devil into building a church.

Internet sleuths believe the odd green shaped figure, which supposedly represents the devil, is actually an alien.

The Baptism of Christ 1710

A disc-shaped object appears to shine beams of light on John the Baptist and Jesus in this painting.

The mysterious scene was painted by Flemmish artist Aert De Gelder.

Many claim that this is one of the most convincing examples of UFOs being highlighted in ancient art.

Svetishoveil Cathedral Fresco 1600s

A 17th-century fresco of the crucifixion of Jesus, which can be found in the Svetishoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta, Georgia, shows two saucer shaped craft on either side of Christ.

Art historians have said these represent angels watching the event, or the moon and the sun.

However, during this period of Byzantine art, angels were usually depicted with wings and halos.

The Annunciation with Saint Emidius, 1486

This is an altar piece painted by Italian artist Carlo Crivelli designed to celebrate the announcement by the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary that she would become mother of Jesus.

Some theories suggest that the halo of the Holy Spirit, depicted in the top left shining down a beam of light, is actually a UFO.

Crucifixion of Christ 1350

This wall mural from 1350 by an unknown artist can be found in the Visoki Decani Monestary in Kosovo.

Two odd-looking objects with 'pilots' can be seen in the sky on both sides of Jesus.

There are many explanations for what these symbols represent but some people like to believe that they are spaceships.

Rock art featuring ‘aliens’ and ‘heavenly figures’ found at 5,000-year-old grave site

In other news, mysterious space object ‘Oumuamua’ that skimmed past Earth is not an alien probe, scientists claim.

The origin of a mysterious celestial radio pulse has finally been pinpointed by astronomers and they say it came from a distant galaxy several billion light years away.

And, a mysterious distant alien star is ‘flashing’ us with a bizarre pattern – and astronomers are stumped.
