"During his time at FC Juárez, El Puma was characterised by his joy, enthusiasm, simplicity, and willingness, as well as his spirit of dedication and love for our colours."

The Mexican first division side signed the target-man in February of last year after a spell in Peru with Carlos A. Manucci.

Reports have suggested that Chavez was left trapped in his car after losing control and colliding with a sign.

FC Juarez are scheduled to face Club Puebla on Saturday in the league and it has not yet known if the game will still go ahead.
