Starstruck #4

Lucky Star

Rate this book
A lonely barista’s dreams come true when her celebrity crush asks her to pose as his fake girlfriend for the paparazzi.

Boone Sheridan is a TV heartthrob with a public relations problem. He needs to clean up his image and create a distraction ASAP. What better way to do that than pretending he’s settled down with a nice, wholesome, ordinary girlfriend?

Eve Tracey is as ordinary as they come—a pre-school teacher and part-time barista working two jobs to make ends meet. She also happens to be a recovering Boone Sheridan superfan. So when the object of her former obsession walks into her coffee shop and makes her an unbelievable offer, how can she refuse?

Acting like she’s in love with Boone Sheridan is no problem for Eve. But she’s read enough fake dating fanfics to know that being on the receiving end of Boone’s pretend affection is almost certainly a recipe for heartbreak—and she’s too realistic to believe the fantasy will extend any further than that.

There’s nothing for a starstruck fangirl to do but brace herself for the pain of letting Boone go at the end of their temporary arrangement.

Upcoming Susannah Nix's Lucky Star is the best celebrity romance I've read. And I've read A LOT of them!
She delivered the perfect fantasy interloping fave tropes of mine: fake dating, forced proximity and cinderella simmering in some intense slow burn. 🥵

The main characters were not only adorable and genuine but they shared such chemistry on page it's impossible not shipping them. Eve and Boone were amazing in their banter but they truly shined in their passion. The sex scene were both playful and HOT. HOT. HOT. 🔥
I'm so sad it's over, but glad I have the author backlist to discover. This was my first by Nix.

Absolutely startruck with this one. 10/10 recommend. 💫

Gaaaahhhh! I loved this book!

𝗟𝗨𝗖𝗞𝗬 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥 is a freaking delight. Boone and Eve are EVERYTHING. Evie is hardworking, sweet, and relatable. I loved reading about her growth in this book as she goes from being kind of lost in her life to choosing a direction and purpose and then getting at it! And Boone was so insanely sexy. He's such a cinnamon roll hero and if you like guy-takes-care-of-sick-girl trope then buckle up, bitches!...because it is so damn good.

I really loved that Boone is a character who has been in an emotionally abusive relationship in the past. This is so often relegated to female leads. His experience was handled with realism, honesty, and compassion. So well done! I really wish therapy had been part of his healing process because I think we need more male characters in therapy.

The steam in 𝗟𝗨𝗖𝗞𝗬 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥 was melt-yo-kindle hot and the slow burn of this fake-relationship really amps up the chemistry. Book sex is so much better when we have been nibble horny breadcrumbs for a hundred pages first. Just sayin'.

I should mention that this book doesn't quite succeed as a standalone. The only reason I came to realize it wasn't the first book in the series is because I got to a point where I thought "who are all of these characters and what are these half-told back stories about them? I will definitely go back and read the series from the beginning because this book was great!

I absolutely loved 𝗟𝗨𝗖𝗞𝗬 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗥! It had meaningful friendships, complex characters, tackled some tough issues, and provided a decidedly wonderful HEA to Boone and Eve. Now I'm off to start this series from the beginning!

𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫
𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗟𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟: Rated R / 1-4 descriptive sex scenes, may have harsh language.
𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗚𝗘𝗥𝗦: cheating ex, emotionally abusive ex
𝗙𝗘𝗘𝗟𝗦: 3/5 - So many feels you might tear up a little.

I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I don’t know why it’s so shocking to me that I finished a book :’D

This book was what I needed honestly.

Eve (fc: Daniela Alvarez)
- Very patient with Boone!
- Very caring
- Why is she living my dream :(

Boone (fc: Philippe Leblond)
- He’s so romantic honestly or wait…
- The way he took care of Eve!
- His past did get the best of him but glad he fought through it.

I don’t know why this feels like it’s been forever since I wrote a review I don’t know what to write lol.

This book didn’t really feel like a fake dating romance but at the same time it kinda did?

I could never be famous-

I feel like this was insta-love bc of how they both had crushes on each other from the start but that just me.

If they were real life people and they did what they did I would definitely realize this is PR like you can’t fool me!

I’m curious about Griffin and Alice story they have an interesting love story.

Overall 4.5/5 stars. This felt like instant love and there was something missing in the story.

There cute moments made my heart melt like I wish I had a boyfriend like Boone.

How does it feel to live my dream, Eve?

Tropes: celebrity romance, strangers to lovers, fake relationship, roommates, forced proximity, slow burn

CW: infidelity, toxic friendships, gaslighting, character with anxiety

Review: I’m happy to repeat it every time I read a Susannah Nix book, but I’m such a big fan of her brand of romance. Ever since I read the Chemistry Lessons books, I’ve been hooked and addicted. And now with the final book in her Starstruck series, she’s done it again! I read the first two books, as well as the novella before this, but I barely remember anything about the first two stories. All I know is that I love celebrity romances and Susannah Nix delivered!

“In case you haven’t figured it out by now, Evie, I’m your number one fan.”

So many things to love about this book! First, their names: Eve Tracey and Boone Sheridan. Second, my most favourite trope: fake dating! And third, honestly just everything about this book. I loved the slow burn of their relationship, I loved the easy rapport the two of them formed even though they were relative strangers. I enjoyed the banter and the chemistry. I love when strangers fit together like puzzle pieces because they have great chemistry and get along like a house on fire. Boone and Eve just fit in all the right ways and it’s so evident in the way their friendship builds.

After a toxic relationship that included some severe gaslighting and the destruction of a great friendship, television star Boone Sheridan is trying to keep his head down. Except, when the marriage of his co-star falls apart and he’s held responsible, his entire career feels like it’s going to explode. Eve Tracey’s working two jobs and doing her best to keep her head above water. And if that’s not enough, her so-called best friend sends her a video of herself having sex with Eve’s boyfriend and completely ruins her day. But when Boone and Eve crash into each other in the back of the coffee shop where she works, suddenly everything in their lives seems like it can sorted out together. It helps that Eve’s one of Boone’s biggest fans and Boone’s slightly obsessed with how Eve’s helping clear his life of darkness without her complete knowledge. And thus the story begins.

It’s a relationship of convenience, really, so the paparazzi stop spreading lies about Boone and his non-existent romantic relationship with his co-star. But it’s also about giving yourself a chance to experience something more and something better. That’s what Boone and Eve are to each other—someone better than anyone they’ve ever been with. Completely different people—outside of the fact that he’s famous and she’s a nobody—Eve and Boone just seem to fit together so well. I loved how well matched they were. Plus, their relationship was incredibly entertaining and amusing to watch unfold.

“When I saw you that day, you were like a light shining out of the fog. I can’t explain it, but it was the first time in months I’d actually felt something. It was like you woke me up and pointed me toward the way out of the darkness.”

Their fake dating was a realistic sort of build. From going to lunch and talking, spending time together while he helps Eve pack up her apartment after the big fall out with her former best friend (god, Becca was horrible!) to attending a casual party with his closest friends—it all just made so much sense. I liked that with each minute they spent together and each interaction, they fell in love with each other without even realising it. I also loved how much they talked about their lives. Yes, it took them time to open up to each other, but I liked that communicating and explaining their pasts and their concerns was a big point. Also, CONSENT. Even to just touch and kiss each other, they asked about it first!

If Lucky Star was a television show, I’d ship the hell out of Eve and Boone. In a heartbeat.

Thanks to Susannah Nix for generously providing me with an advance copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Light and sexy

Super cute! After reading a particularly angsty book, I was in the mood for something lighter, easier, and refreshing - and this was just what the doctor ordered. It's a low angst, sexy rom com that takes the fake relationship trope and spins it into something else. I loved how perfectly this couple complements each other, and how they're both in need of a little light in their lives. They're hurting and raw when they meet, but the easy attraction between them soon smooths out those rough edges. I also loved the fact that our hero is a TV star who the heroine has been crushing on for years; that made for some particularly fun moments, and the Hollywood vibes added a little something extra to the story. I'm new to the series, but I had no trouble diving right in - and now I want to go back and read the other interconnected standalones.

The story follows Eve, a woman whose life seems to be falling apart around her. She works two jobs to make ends meet, and the two people closest to her have just betrayed her. Reeling from the news, Eve bumps into Boone, the star of a long-running TV show... who just so happens to be her celebrity crush. Boone has some problems of his own, and the cute coffee shop girl he's been sneaking glances at for weeks just might be able to help with some of them. Starting up a fake relationship seems beneficial to both, but neither Boone nor Eve anticipated the very real feelings that would soon follow. Nothing about their situation feels fake, and they both feel stronger together.

I'm not usually a fan of third person perspective, but I barely even noticed it here - the story is so easygoing and swoony. I liked both characters right away, and their chemistry is obvious. While the story starts like the typical fake relationship romance, it soon transitions into something a little more unique. The celebrity crush dynamic was super fun, and I loved Boone more and more as we got to know him better. He's such a sweetheart, with a vulnerable side that got to me. There are some seriously swoony vibes, and the whole story is light and sexy, even when it tackles difficult subjects like gaslighting and anxiety. It was entirely too easy to binge, and now I'm left wanting to check out more from the series. If you're looking for something cute and steamy, then this is a very solid read.

You can give me a fake dating trope with a dual POV any day and I’ll happily devour it!! And that’s exactly what I did with this book.

Lucky Star really surprised me in the best way. I really loved how quickly I was invested in this book. From 17% into this book, I could not put it down. What helped was that I got into the story line quite quickly. I didn’t really know too much about this book going into it but I didn’t have to wait long to find out which I really loved.

So now let’s talk about our FMC, Eve. I was a huge fan of hers from the beginning. She’s direct, doesn’t hold back on what she says and she’s just such a likable character that you’re cheering for from the start. Pair her up with the MMC, Boone, and you’ve got yourself a swoon worthy couple! He was such a great love interest and I loved his character development in this book. There weren’t as many chapters in his POV as there were for Eve, but I loved it every time I reached one. I was really rooting for them both!

This romcom definitely ticked all the boxes and left me with a huge smile on my face!! If you need a read to pick you up, this is definitely it. I hadn’t heard of this author before but I’m definitely wanting to go back to the other books in this series and read about the other characters we’ve met, especially Griffin and Alice!

Series- Starstruck #3

Troupes- forced proximity, celebrity crush, fake dating,

CW- Cheating, toxic relationships

Susannah does it again! In this one she delivers a sweet and sexy celebrity crush to a spunky down on her luck fan girl.

I mean is’s a lot of peoples dreams right? To be swept up into a fake dating scheme to help your long time celebrity crushes image while he helps you out of a shit living situation. So you end up not only being his fake girlfriend but also his roommate and the more coupely things get the ore the lines blear and the more everything starts to feel less fake and more like love?

Can I just say Susannah stop it! You are giving us unrealistic expectations of our celebrity crushes! First Scott then Griffen and now freaking Boone its to much, their too sweet and Swoony and clone worthy!

This awesome story has a lot to love, quirky, adorable heroine Eve. Caring, sweet sexy as hell, bearded hero Boone and plenty of steamy tension and broken pieces to put back together. There’s even one of my favorite sub troupes where she gets sick and he takes care of her!

This is an excellent beach read! Its steamy and engaging, moves at a good pace, has lovely characters and leaves you with the warm fuzzies.

Thank you Susannah for the opportunity to read and advanced copy of this book. All opinions and ratings are my own.

This is the fourth book in the Starstruck series, but they can be read as stand alone books.

This was my first one and I loved it! I’ll for sure be checking out the others in this series.

This book follows Eve and Boone. Boone is a famous TV actor who gets caught up in a scandal, his PR people want him to have a fake relationship in order for the scandal to die down. Eve works at a coffee shop where Boone gets his coffee. She’s also a huge fan of him, (writer of fan fiction and such). One day Boone asks her to be his fake girlfriend in order to get Hollywood off of his back.

This was a fun RomCom! I love a good celebrity romance. Also fake dating is one of my favourite tropes, and this book did that well. This book was cute, fun and steamy! Overall a great RomCom read.

(Half a star off as the beginning felt a bit rushed, but overall I really enjoyed it)

This is the fourth book in Susanah Nix's Starstruck series (but it can easily be read as a stand alone). In this series, we have Hollywood heartthrobs who fall for people not in the industry, and each book gets better than the last!

Boone is the lead in an X-Files ish show that has been running for ten years. Recently his career has hit a snag because paparazzi have released a suspicious looking picture of him leaving his married co-stars home at all hours of the morning. His publicist wants to set him up with someone to date to clean up his image, but Boone wants to pick the girl, and he wants to pick the kind hearted barrista that he sees everyday at his coffee shop.

Eve works two jobs to make ends meet, has had a crush on Boone forever, and is a superfan of his tv show. When she sees him at the coffee shop each day, she treats him as a regular person though. One day, when she receives the terrible news that her best friend and roommate has been sleeping with her boyfriend, Boone sees her distress and comforts her. Without a place to live, she agrees to a fake dating relationship with Boone in exchange for a room in his home.

I absolutely loved everything about this book! Boone has been in a toxic relationship before, and is still navigating through all of the hurt that she has caused him. Eve has issues with anxiety and is struggling with her feelings of self worth. Both have been damaged by other people, and are trying to learn to trust again.

Our characters are wonderful together, and their chemistry is amazing. Watching them try to change Boone's image in the public eye, while trying to navigate their own relationship is incredibly satisfying. Susannah Nix's books always leave me wanting for more, and this one was no exception!

Thanks so much to Susannah Nix for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

What can I say about this book besides the fact it’s perfect?
When Boone meets Eve he is in a difficult time of his life, lacking hope and just living and she brings the light he was needing. They both are super nice, caring, supportive people. Boone had to overcome some insecurities to show us his full potential, but their relationship was so beautiful. It was incredible to witness the path they took from being strangers, to acquaintances, to friends, and finally lovers.
This is definitely my favorite Susannah’s book and one of the best romcoms I’ve ever read. Super fun, sweet and hot. I highly recommend it!

Another incredible romance by Susannah Nix!

Eve's former celebrity crush, Boone Sheridan, has been visiting the Coffee shop where she works, though he has barely said a word to her until one day he comes to her with a proposition: to pretend to be his girlfriend to fix his tarnished image.

I absolutely adored this book! It was funny, witty and extremely entertaining. I have read so many fake dating romances and yet this one felt completely unique. Eve was a very relatable main character and Boone was a very swoon worthy and realistic love interest. I thought they had such a wonderful connection and a lot of chemistry.

Despite being part of a series, Lucky Star can be read as a standalone and has cameos from the previous books. I especially loved the brief appearance of Kimberleigh, who was the main character in Star Bright.

Fake dating, two absolutely sweet and compassionate characters, fan fiction, and Hollywood sparkle...Lucky Star is definitely the rom com you'll want to binge 💙

Eve is a barista/preschool assistant whose secret dream comes true when her celebrity crush Boone asks her out and then asks her to be his fake girlfriend…cue the fake dating trope💙 Boone can act and play the part, and Eve can as well, knowing all about him on and off the show, but can they keep themselves safe from broken hearts once this fake dating ploy ends? 💙

I thought Eve's character was spunky and fun, and I loved hearing her POV. Boone was the sweetest guy even as he recovered from a hurt heart and soul from a past relationship, on top of a Hollywood scandal. The way he cared for and looked after Eve will having you swooning! The tension and connection between the two is undeniable.
Also...shoutout to Boone’s cooking skills coming from his mom and Yiayia, love the Greek food shoutout 🇬🇷

A huge thanks to Susannah Nix for the gifted copy in exchange for an honest review.

I read an arc of Star Bright and immediately went and bought Fallen Star and Rising Star. I asked for Lucky Star as soon as I saw it pop up on NetGalley as well. This series is right up my alley. I LOOOOOVE famous main characters in romance. They can all be read as standalone but the characters do pop up a little in each book.
Soooooo, Lucky Star might honestly be my favorite of the four. Boone and Eve were just so cute together. The fake dating was well done. I know it’s a super common trope but I thought it was blended well with the friends to lovers and instalove. The heavier topics were handled really well. Susannah had me all in my feels and then back to swooning! The spice was good, definitely an open door romance.

Absolutely would recommend the series to romcom lovers. They all have a good mix of funny, emotions, and steam!

Susannah Nix's romances page by page show you that true love is messy and beautiful and it's perfectly imperfect. Every time I pick up another novel of hers I know I am going to fall in love again and again. Lucky Star was an excellent fake dating, strangers to friends to lovers story that I want to pickup and start from page 1 all over again.

I just finished reading an ARC of Lucky Star and it is one of my favorite books I’ve read this year and certainly now takes it’s place as my favorite Susannah Nix book! Boone and Eve’s story is the best kind of Hollywood fiction, because the story and the characters ring true. Boone might be “famous”, but his character reads with more substance and heartache than most fictional Hollywood heroes. Eve might be the “girl next door fan”, but again her struggles and insecurities ring true. I highly, highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a “Hollywood Romance” with soul and substance. While the heat factor is minimal, the heart factor is strong on this book!

For the cliche, it was fun, but I had trouble with the plot.
They were soooo in love with each other and they had met like a month ago. So for me it felt a little like insta love. I would have understood if she loved him at first sight because he is her fan, but him?! He was obsessed with her but had never actually talk to her.
And the end felt plain, there was something missing, like there was no challenge for the couple. Everything was too easy.
The characters and the cute dialogue was the best of the book.

Title: Lucky Star (Starstruck Series)
Author: Susannah Nix
Hero/Heroine: Boone & Eve
Trope: Fake Relationship/Celebrity Romance

TW/CW: Toxic relationship, mention of gaslighting, mention of anxiety

THE GOOD 😀

Well it’s official. This is the last book in the Starstruck Series and I’m sad, I’ve loved reading about these characters and getting an insight into the world of a celebrity. Boone and Eve were wonderful characters and a great way to end the series.
Boone has spent the last ten years playing the lead in a popular tv show and is on a hiatus until filming of the new series starts. Dropping into the same coffee shop every morning, he notices Eve, the barista and our lovely heroine, and feels inexplicably drawn to her. When he provides support to Eve at a vulnerable moment, an unlikely friendship is formed. When Boone asks her for a pretty big favour, this starts a chain of events that had me feeling all the emotions. Talk about a slow burn, these pair definitely kept me on my toes.
I loved both Boone and Eve’s characters immensely; incredibly vulnerable yet closed off, Boone was hesitant to take it further with Eve for fear of hurting her. Eve was so proud and independent, I loved that she didn’t change who she was for Boone. These pair had my heart in a chokehold, and I found myself reading until 1am this morning, desperate to find out how their story ended.
A wonderful and engaging story with real and relatable characters, Lucky Star was an incredible way to end this series.

THE BAD 🙁

Becca. Into the bin she goes.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this to read. This is my honest review.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: What a great way to end this series, and the characters? Gah!

”In case you haven’t figured it out by now, Evie, I’m your number one fan.”

Susannah Nix has become one of my favorite writers and I think she is a wonderful storyteller. Cream and Punishment has been my absolute favorite of her books until now – but I think there is a new number one in town!

Lucky Star is the fourth book in the Starstruck series and can be read as a standalone – I have only read the prequel novella Star Bright before Lucky Star and don’t feel like it mattered in any way. That said, I really want to read the other books now, too, because I want to find out more about what happened to some of the people in this book before they got to where they are now.

Lucky Star tells the story of Eve and Boone. Eve is a barista/pre-school teacher, who has to work two jobs just so she can pay half of the rent of the apartment she shares with her best friend. Boone is a famous actor who lives most of the year in Vancouver filming a TV series and only comes to Los Angeles for the summers. Something happens in both Eve’s and Boone’s personal lives that throws them together at the beginning of the story and they decide to help each other out.

As always Nix creates these wonderful moments – with great banter and wonderful chemistry - where we see Eve and Boone’s friendship develop and we see them grow both together and individually throughout the book. They both have difficulties in trusting people and find it hard to open up but they decide early on to try and be as honest with each other as they can. Which, as we all know, can be easier said than done.

Thank you so much Susannah Nix for gifting me this book in advance – I devoured it in two nights! Lucky Star will be released on May 17.

𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬 : coming May 17th to Kindle Unlimited; Book 4 in a series; can be read as a standalone!

——————————

𝐄𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞𝐲 knows better than to react when a celebrity walks into the coffee shop she works at. even if said celebrity is her crush, and pretty much the man of her dreams. 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐧, on the other hand, is incredibly grateful to the pretty barista who recognised him but continued to treat him the same way she would any other customer. the two have an unspoken relationship which takes a turn when 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐞 asks 𝐄𝐯𝐞 to fake a relationship with him👀

——————————

my heart is genuinely bursting at the seams after reading this incredibly tender love story. having read 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, the prequel novella to this series, I was expecting something just as angsty. but 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫 was emotional, and tender, and a slow burn for sure, but some how still super different!

I'm a huge fan of the way this fake relationship came to be, because it actually seemed plausible. the whole living under the same roof situation was the perfect addition to the pre - existing tension between our protagonists, and I have to appreciate all the forced proximity that came along with it😆

𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐞'𝐬 intensity and 𝐄𝐯𝐞'𝐬 contrasting easy nature made for a palpable chemistry that was so enjoyable to read about. another thing that I really appreciate is the lack of a breakup before the epilogue or final chapter. it was such a nice swap to have tension and a little bit of heartbreak without the full blown breakup😍

as if this book wasn't already perfect with its tropes and writing, it also features multiple characters of colour that actually have a role to play, and loads of consent. I love, and would undoubtedly recommend to anyone looking for a sexy slow burn💗

i want to thank you next galley and susannah nix for this arc.
this is my second book i read from this author and i have to read the rest of this series
once i started this book i did not once to put it down it was so good. i loved boone character he was such a sweet heart i really did related to what he went through with his toxic ex and i loved how he over came through all that bull and was able to love eve.
eve was such a hardworking independent one who can hold her own she didnt need to depend on her fake ex bestfriend and boyfriend. i loved how even though they were fake dating and an understanding and how they depended in each other in away. i loved that the author show what effects boone toxic left him feeling and it effects his friends and family.

i knew i had to read this once i saw it had fake dating and a slow burn and it did not failed me and i will be recommending this book for others to read because its just so good and funny and i couldnt stop laughing while reading this

QOTD: Who's your celebrity crush?
My A: Tom Hardy 😍

Susannah Nix has done it again! After reading and loving My Cone and Only I moved onto her Starstruck series. I LOVE this series!! Susannah writes the perfect blend of sweet friendship, steamy chemistry and happily ever afters, bringing to life love stories you can help but root for. With low angst and spice to leave you fanning your face, you really can't ask for anything more from a contemporary romance! Susannah Nix has quickly become a must read author for me and I can't recommend this series enough!

BLURB:

Lucky Star is a book about a Los Angeles barista and a TV star Actor. Eve is a huge fan of actor Boone Sheridan so when he propositions her to be his fake girlfriend one day who is she to say no? This book is everything I ever wanted in a Celeb fake dating book. It was sweet, caring, everything handled maturely. If you liked To Love Jason Thorn (or liked the idea more than the book like I did) you’ll LOVE this book. TW on past abusive ex, cheating boyfriend, anxiety and depression.

This is a must read for the summer and a love note to fanfic writers

Sometimes a fake dating/forced proximity/celebrity romance scratches an itch. I appreciated the story for the banter, the chemistry, and the tenderness. I love how Nix crafted the "hollywood" Boone and "girl next door" Eve in a way that felt grounded in reality. Oh- and the way she incorporated consent- perfect!

I've never gone wrong with a book by Susannah Nix and this was certainly no exception. I LOVED Lucky Star! The Fake Dating trope is one of my favorites, as is Famous/Ordinary, so I was super excited to get to review this. Boone and Eve were the best! I loved Eve right away and Boone grew on me pretty quickly. :) I loved their story and it's a perfect addition to this series. If you're a Nix fan, you'll adore this one. If you're new to the Nix world, you're quickly going to want to read them all!

Make sure to wear waterproof mascara and have tissues nearby. This book made me cry so many tears. Happy tears and some sad tears.

Boone Sheridan is a TV star for a long running show. He's recently gotten into hot water with bad publicity with his co-star.

Eve Tracey is a part-time barista and preschool teacher as ordinary as can be. She's a big time fan of the show. So when Boone comes into her coffee shop on the daily. She knows who he is and tries to act cool.

One day he asks her out for dinner and to be his fake girlfriend. She accepts because it's Boone Sheridan. As they get to know one another things start to shift into something more.

I loved this book. I loved the character development of Boone & Eve. Their relationship and what they had to overcome. Loved the spice.

While I'm a huge Susannah Nix fan, this was actually my first book in her Starstruck series! I have been loving her Women-in-STEM and King's Creamery series, so I was excited to try something new. And who doesn't love a good celebrity romance?

In this story we see normal girl Eve end up fake dating TV heartthrob Boone Sheridan after a series of chance encounters at the coffee shop where she works. But their fake romance becomes a little more real, and neither are sure if it can stand the long haul.

Celebrity romances and fake dating are some of my favorite tropes, so it's even more fun to see them together! While I couldn't relate too much to Eve, I enjoyed hearing about her journey in a Cinderella-esque tale.

Thanks to author Susannah Nix for my eARC! All thoughts and opinions are my own.

5 stars - 8/10

𝘖𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the second book I’ve read of Susannah’s and I absolutely loved it! There are four books in the Starstruck series but this can definitely be read as a Stand Alone!

There are so many things I loved about this book but I really enjoyed the 𝙵𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝙳𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 trope! Every girls dream is to be swept up off their feet by their celebrity crush right?

Eve Tracey is an ordinary girl, working as a preschool teacher and a part time barista to make ends meet. All of that changes one day and as fate would have it, Eve meets TV Heartthrob Boone Sheridan… her ultimate crush..and he makes her an offer she can’t refuse… Pretend to be his girlfriend. ( 𝚂𝚠𝚘𝚘𝚗 )

Boone Sheridan is a TV heartthrob with a public relations problem. He needs to clean up his image and create a distraction ASAP. What better way to do that than pretending he’s settled down with a nice, wholesome, ordinary girlfriend?

Things heat up fast 🔥🔥when these two become roomies and live under the same roof! I loved their chemistry from the beginning and the build up and tension with this slow burn was everything! They start to form a friendship but the more time they spend together, the harder it gets to deny their feelings for each other.

I loved how Boone took care of Eve when she was sick. You could really see a bond forming between them as they both helped each other work through their issues from past relationships. The story is Dual POV so you really get to know the characters and see their relationship grow. Overall I really enjoyed this story and found myself rooting for these two in the end♡

Wowwowwow!

I loved everything about this! I was drawn in by the fake dating and the cartoon cover but I never thought I would be able to relate to a character so much!

Boone Sheridan is a tv hit wonder, but is in hot water when spotted leaving a co-workers house who is married. He needs a distraction for the paparazzi to follow before this rumour ruins his career! So when he finds Eve, a coffee shop worker, upset and vulnerable, he comes up with an idea of a fake dating situation. Only the more time they spend together, the more the lines blur from fake to real.

I am always drawn to fake dating, and when I saw the average rating was 5⭐️ I knew I had to! And I binged it! I couldn’t stop thinking about it when I had to stop reading!

I could really relate to Eve a lot with her anxieties and how she reacted to certain situations. But I could also relate and feel sympathy for Boone, being mentally abused by his ex and having to live life moving on from her. I just wanted to give them both a big hug!

I loved Alice and Griffin and really wish they were mentioned more! I really wanted to see their friendship grow!

I did also want to see what happened between Simone and her husband! I also hoped that her ex best friend and ex boyfriend broke up!

I would say my only complaint if that since it was in third person, it was a little confusing who was speaking and I sometimes had to go back and reread stuff but that’s just me personally!

I highly reccomend this book and I will not shut up about this book! It was so funny, sweet, steamy. I had so many oh shit moments!

Thank you netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this arc in exchange on my honest review!
