A marvellous book by Mr. Adair, in which he tells a heart-rend ing story of a beautiful Polish boy who endures terrible hardships as a result of war, political upheaval, imprison- ment, poverty, yet maintains the dignity, with which he was born. It is fitting that Moes inspires one of the most beautiful novels and subsequent movies given to the reading and film-going public. The book also contrasts the tragic life of Count Moes' film counterpart, actor, Bjorn Andresen, who managed to overcome tragedies, and subsequent anonymnity to look upon his experience in making Death In Venice philosophically. I highly recommend this book. It is a "keeper"!
