"RuneScape 3 is a our big focus this summer, but we're going to shift a lot more of our attention to a version for mobile devices after that," the game's executive producer Phil Mansell told Digital Spy.

"I think tablets as a large form factor mobile device is the best place for RuneScape in that area, but six months to a year from now is the range we are looking at."

Mansell went on to say that there is also the possibility of RuneScape companion apps arriving on tablets and smartphones this year, as the HTML 5 technology behind the latest version of the game has made this easier to achieve.
Gaming: Runescape"We have experimented with things on that front. One benefit of moving to HTML 5 is that slices of the game can be available without the full thing, so you could chat with your friends and clan without actually logging," he added.

RuneScape 3 will be released for PC this summer.
