Castlevania: Nocturne season 2 spoilers follow.

Years before Last of Us apparently "broke the video game curse", Castlevania casually ripped the rulebook apart with an incredibly popular, faithful adaptation of Konami's legendary gaming franchise.

Trevor Belmont's story came to an end with the fourth and final season in 2021, but it was only a matter of time before Netflix decided to expand their Castlevania universe with a new spinoff starring another member of the family. Namely, Richter Belmont.

That's right. Castlevania: Nocturne is based on Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night, the latter of which remains the most widely loved game in the entire series. And given how many games there actually are, that's saying something.

Luckily for fans, Netflix renewed Nocturne after just one week. Knowing that, it's time to grab a whip and all the garlic you can carry as we here at Digital Spy break down everything you need to know about Castlevania: Nocturne season two on Netflix.

Castlevania: Nocturne season 2 potential release date — When does it come out?

Nocturne has officially been renewed for a second season and is actually already in production – although no release window has been given. That said, we reckon the show could return by late 2024 or perhaps early 2025 at the latest.

That's because the gap between seasons of Castlevania usually lasted between 12-18 months, so it's safe to assume the same will be true of the spinoff as well. Let's just hope no issues behind the scenes over at Powerhouse Animation mess with this predicted timeline.

Castlevania: Nocturne season 2 cast — Who's in it?

The main voice cast for Castlevania: Nocturne will likely return again for a second instalment, which means the following actors could all be back again very soon:

• Richter Belmont - Edward Bluemel
• Maria Renard - Pixie Davies
• Annette - Thuso Mbedu
• Tera - Nastassja Kinski

• Edouard - Sydney James Harcourt
• Olrox - Zahn McClarnon
• Erzsebet Báthory - Franka Potente

Even if some of your faves died in season one, anyone can return in this world filled with vampires, magic, and biting one-liners, so don't be surprised if they come back too. And that's before we even get started on more potential crossover characters popping over from the original series.

Okay, we're going to spoil a major twist from the end of Castlevania: Nocturne season one right now, so read on at your peril. When the show returns there will be at least one additional cast member. That's right, James Callis is set to reprise his role as Alucard after turning up in the final episode to save the day.

Castlevania: Nocturne season 2 plot — What will happen?

Castlevania is a powerhouse franchise, so it's fitting that Powerhouse Animation was the one to bring these games to life so successfully for Netflix.

The original series ran for four seasons, and there's no reason why Nocturne can't do the same. Without spoiling too much, that action-packed finale — named 'Devourer of Light' — clearly doesn't spell the end of this show just yet. There's plenty more to come, as fans of the original games this series is based on will already know.

With a huge, built-in fanbase and tons of lore from Konami's original saga to draw upon, it's safe to say that Richter Belmont's story has only just begun.

After the finale of season one, there are a ton of questions we need answers to. Not least of all; where has Alucard been? Has Olrox left for good? And of course, what will happen to Tera now she has become a vampire?

Castlevania: Nocturne season 2 trailer — Any Castlevania: Nocturne season 2 footage yet?

There's no new footage available just yet, but there are plenty of games to sink your teeth into while we wait for more episodes.

Plus, the original anime is extremely re-watchable, so don't spend what might feel like an eternity pining for something new when you can just enjoy everything Castlevania has already given us instead.

Castlevania: Nocturne is available to watch on Netflix.
