Bolivian President Evo Morales has secured himself a part-time job as a footballer.

The 54-year-old has made a rather surprising career move by signing on as Sport Boys' new midfielder.

The first division club have revealed that President Morales's busy schedule means that he won't play in every game, and will only play for 20 minutes when he does appear.

The president isn't offering his services free of charge, but will only receive the minimum salary of about $214 (£127).

Sport Boys' president Mario Cronenbold is quoted by BBC News as saying: "He loves football and plays well. He'll wear the No 10 shirt. We'll send him a list of matches and he'll choose which ones to play in."

Morales has played in several special football matches over the years, but this will be his first professional outing. He is said to be very excited and physically ready for the new role.
