  1. Great work on the geothermal system.

    Where are the solar panels?

Will the building be connected to the natural gas grid that soon will be obsolete when the City implements it’s carbon neutral climate action plan update in 2019?

  2. Quite possibly the ugliest building proposal I’ve ever seen. Looks like what my toddlers would put together when working with building blocks. I understand there’s a fine line between “edgy” and “absurd” but this proposal is so far past absurd it can’t even catch a bus back to absurd.

  3. My first impression was YUCK!
It is too close to college of arts and sciences and should incorporate the color and style of CAS and then new building
Warren towers is across the street and terrible building we were stuck with Too many ugly towers
There is no grass on the sides such as Questrom building which blends in well
With this off kilter design won’t it be harder to maintain? There is also wasted space
What were the other building designs?
I think better to select building that gives more space between CAS and incorporate
the side of the building to look like CAS
Doesn’t have to be that much
If the building is moved to the right will give more landscaping
The Kilachand neuro building blends in well
    Remember architecture main purpose is
function. A strange design. This building will be arounf for many years it’s design may make it hard to maintain and they tend to have pronlems. Look at the modern
MIT building designed by ? Gheary which has had many expensive pronlems
    Please consider different design

  4. Excited to see this moving forward, but at 297 feet, why not add three more architectural feet to get us at 300? “BU’s 300-foot tall Data Science Center” has a much better ring to it. Also, this article claims this will be the tallest building on campus, but isn’t StuVi2 taller?

  5. I notice that yet another parking option is going to be eradicated. Public transportation is not a feasible option for everyone – are there plans for offering parking to those who need it?

    1. Good Afternoon Debbie,

Guest parking will be available a short distance away in the Kenmore Lot, 549 Commonwealth Avenue. The Granby Lot is not open to University permit holders but permit parking spaces in the alleyway that runs between Silber Way and Granby Street will be affected. However, the daily lot surveys we conduct each morning and afternoon indicate that parking will be available in East and Central Campus for permit holders therefore this project will not affect the availability of parking for faculty and staff in this area of campus.

  6. This is dope. I think the design is refreshing. I always thought BU architecture was pretty bland. Although this building does stick out from its surrounding, I feel this design signifies a new era for BUCS and BU as a whole. Perhaps the only negative attribute is the location. 200 to 214 Bay State and Hillel are the only houses that get direct sunlight on that road. Feeling nostalgic now. I lived on the third floor of 204 for all four years. Good times.

  7. This building looks really inspirational and big, but has anyone walked by the proposed building site and thought about how awesome a duck pond would look instead??
