The Brewers have optioned reliever Abner Uribe to Triple-A Nashville following Wednesday’s win over the Rays. Right-hander Corbin Martin was recalled from the Sounds to take his place on the active roster.

Uribe, still just 23 until June, has had a rough start to 2024, pitching to a 6.91 ERA with 11 runs allowed in 14 1⁄3 innings of work, going 3-for-5 in save opportunities and striking out 14 batters. He was suspended six games following Tuesday night’s brawl against the Rays, and he’ll serve the suspension — which he is appealing — upon his return to the majors.
Martin, 28, was claimed off waivers from the Diamondbacks in April. In 17 career MLB appearances (10 starts), Martin has a 6.71 ERA with 53 strikeouts in 57 2⁄3 innings. He last appeared in the majors with Arizona in 2022. In four appearances with the Sounds, he’s 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA and five strikeouts across 4 1⁄3 innings of work.
