A production company was launched, producing over half a dozen films between 1978-2002, and as a result today's generation associates "National Lampoon" almost completely with its films rather than its pulp origins. And importantly, this was the film that catapulted Harold Ramis and John Belushi from television into the movies, where they would both flourish. Gray titled wrappers, noted as 2ND REVISED SECOND DRAFT SCREENPLAY on the front wrapper and dated June 17, 1977 (over a year prior to the film's release in July 1978).
