Purchase options and add-ons
All-around average teenager Tsukune can't get accepted to any high school save one...but on his first day, he finds the rest of the student body doesn't appear average in the least. Best of all, the cutest girl on campus can't wait to fling her arms around his neck! Wait a sec'--are those her teeth around his neck too...? Tsukune's going to have one heck of a hickey when he gets home from Monster High! But does he have a chance in H-E-double-hockey-sticks of raising his grades at a school where the turf war isn't between the jocks and the nerds but the vampires and the werewolves?

About the author
Akihisa Ikeda was born in 1976 in Miyazaki. He debuted as a mangaka with the four-volume magical warrior fantasy series Kiruto in 2002, which was serialized in Monthly Shonen Jump. Rosario+Vampire debuted in Monthly Shonen Jump in March of 2004 and is continuing in the magazine Jump Square (Jump SQ) as Rosario+Vampire: Season II. In Japan, Rosario+Vampire is also available as a drama CD. In 2008, the story was first released as an anime. Season II is also available as an anime now. And in Japan, there is a Nintendo DS game based on the series. Ikeda has been a huge fan of vampires and monsters since he was a little kid. He says one of the perks of being a manga artist is being able to go for walks during the day when everybody else is stuck in the office.

The manga does not insult your intelligence but still provides an array of fan service to the benefit of the story instead of at the expense of it. Everything from epic beat downs, dramatic transformations, to steamy situations without the ridiculous over abundance of panty shots and idiotic banter. But that is not to imply that there aren't ANY panty shots.
Story wise it is very well written and will always leave you wanting more. One of the most likable things about the manga is the consistent character development between each other and independently. It is one of my favorite manga and I can't wait for the volumes to come.

The events of the school festival come to a close, and the school is absolutely trashed. Students are sent home, and the girls decide to crash Tsukune's house, each expecting to be the only one to do so. Chaos ensues, ending the first part of the series on a less serious note.
There's a bonus chapter at the end that takes place back before Mizore joins the group. It mentions a traditional vampire law for a small piece of lore.
This is not the end. The series continues with volume one of Rosario + Vampire Season II.
Side note: As with an earlier volume, there's another weird translation choice regarding Mizore's monster type.. Mizore refers to herself as a snow fairy. She is a Yuki-Onna, and as far as I can tell, that folklore states they are spirits or demons, not fairies.

This tenth and final volume of the first `Rosario+Vampire' manga series is a nice end to the series with some good battles and some funny moments as well. The artwork is good, especially of the scenes with groups of monsters and the final battle as chaos is brought to the Yokai Academy School Festival. The volume also has a bonus story which is which, although not as good as the series proper, does give a bit more information about the lives of vampires.
Despite taking a while for it to get going, `Rosario+Vampire' has been a very entertaining series that, when combined with its sequel series is probably counted as one of my top ten favourite manga series.
