Tsukune learned the truth about the woman he loves. The secret memories before she even got the Rosario and the reason why HE is the only one who can take it off. Completely taken by surprise in the worst way possible, he plunges into despair and sees everything Moka has gone through after her powers were sealed. Tsukune confesses his love for Moka and without even realizing it, broke Kurumu’s heart. She knows the secret of the Rosario and yet still refuses to accept that Tsukune will never be hers. Akasha revealed that Moka and Tsukune are meant to be BECAUSE of how the seal works. Where does this lead the gang now? And what did Aqua promise Akasha the night Moka’s first ancestor powers awaken?

First off, I got really interested in this series after watching it on Netflix Instant video for PS3 or any compatible device. When I saw the original book adaptation on Amazon, I knew I had to have at least a couple of volumes to see and compare.

Let me tell you, I was not disappointed. If the video adaptation was "Moka Lite" then the book most certainly is "Moka Latte". Yes the introduction of the principal characters and sequence of events is off plus so many other new and old cast members are more detailed in a parallel universe sort of way but that makes it more interesting. The video animation truly only hinted at what the books actually convey.

Yes it is a lone not wanting to be a "Hero" overall nice guy named Tsukune but its his harem of beauty's and the interplay between them in a world of "Humans and Monsters" that makes it more than eye-candy. Of course without a heroine like Moka, the catalyst that melds the horrific conflicts into peaceful resolutions of love, trust, and harmony there could'nt be a story like this. Did I mention lots of humor, jokes, and mature subject matter?

O.k. so anyway, once I found a VIZ manga app. for the ipod touch, loading the rest of the volumes I did'nt have at half price or $4.99 each was easy. Now I can wait patiently for volume 9 to come out in July or I could go to a Japanese bookstore and order volumes 9,10, and 11 except it's in Japanese.
Looks like Ikeda figures that more volumes is better and easier than starting from scratch on a new series. Good for him and me.

In my opinion if the story ever concludes correctly, the hero needs to marry all his harem mates. Its the only way to keep everyone happy.

vol 8 the next book in the now the two season series is great....i had just heard of the manga after watching the the anime on netflix. i have ordered all the books so far and im seeing now a multi book episode going on. in this book i find that there are alot more questions asked than answers given. for example in moka's dream we find out how her mother dies and what kind of vampire moka really is...but there is no answer to the reason for the outer moka. also it talks about a destany for the one to be able to remove the rosario to be the one for moka forever. when you really read through the book 2 or 3 times it gets alittle irritating that there is so much incomplete in the big picture. in every book before this on some big problem or obstical or question is answered and you feel alot better about having closure until the next book is released, that isnt the case with this book. it will make you go crazy with questions of what is going to happen and where will the story go after all that has happened, happened. i really love the series very much...only hope i can wait for the 9th vol to come out in july

This is a great story that includes a lot of the monsters that we all know and love in a high school setting. It is cute, funny, action packed and sexy but I implore anyone who has seen the anime and hated it DON'T JUDGE THIS MANGA BY THE ANIME!!! The story is stronger, the dialogue is better and the characters are far less annoying!

The manga does not insult your intelligence but still provides an array of fan service to the benefit of the story instead of at the expense of it. Everything from epic beat downs, dramatic transformations, to steamy situations without the ridiculous over abundance of panty shots and idiotic banter. But that is not to imply that there aren't ANY panty shots.

Story wise it is very well written and will always leave you wanting more. One of the most likable things about the manga is the consistent character development between each other and independently. It is one of my favorite manga and I can't wait for the volumes to come.

As Fairy Tale prepares to attack, Moka, Mizore, Tskune, and the head of the Huang family are still in the thrall of the Rosario seal. History is revealed as the events of Moka's past unfold in front of them, from how she got the Rosario to the real reason of her mothers disappearance , including a very surprising fact of Moka's bloodline. As the battle outside the compond begins, Kurumu uses her powers to enter Moka's mind in order to awaken the sleeping members of the party. Can a confession from Tskune be able to free them, but what will the reprocussions of those words bring to the other girls.

This was a very dark story, but well written and well thought out. With only two books left of Season two, how will the group be able to function and defeat the newest threats. I only wish July was here so I can read th next part. Later

5.0 out of 5 stars The Secret of the Rosario

As Tsukune, Mizore and Tohofuhai continue their journey through Moka's sealed memories they learn more about the events surrounding her childhood. The three of them witness the happy times and the darker times as they watch the events surrounding the disappearance of Moka's mother and discover the truth about the Rosario and Moka's outer personality. Meanwhile back in the present, the Miao family and Fairy Tale launch an attack on the Huang mansion putting everyone in danger as someone from Moka's past comes to find her.

Volume Eight of the 'Rosario+Vampire' second season is another very entertaining volume that includes a nice mixture of action and exposition. The revelations about Moka's past are very interesting, allowing us to get a glimpse at just how powerful her mother was as well as learning the truth about the sealing of her powers. This volume also lets us see the Huang parents get a bit of action, allows Kurumu to show off a few more of her powers and allows us to see far more of Moka's eldest sister's true strength. The volume also has some minor comedy moments in places and has the usual 4-koma comics at the end.

The translation of the volume is generally good but I would have preferred that they used the term Shinso instead of First Ancestor as the latter feels a little unwieldy in places.

This was another very good volume of 'Rosario+Vampire Season II' and it is definitely well worth a full five stars.
