RIVERDALE, N.Y. ? Manhattan senior forward Fernando Londono was named MAAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week announced this afternoon at conference headquarters. Londono delivered five goals, including a game winner, over the Jaspers three contests last week.
Londono, a native of New Rochelle, N.Y., tallied a hat trick in the Jaspers' home opener on Monday versus Fairleigh Dickinson. Londono carried the Manhattan offense by scoring a goal in the first period, and then notching back-to-back scores in the second half. On Wednesday, Londono lifted the Jaspers to their first victory of the season in a 2-1 win at Army. Londono posted both goals in the match.
Londono is currently tied for first in the MAAC for goals (5). He also ranks third in the league with 10 points.
